Felician Sisters of North America
Who We Are
We are a joy-filled, apostolic congregation of women religious, the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Felix of Cantalice, known as the Felician Sisters—a Franciscan community inspired by the spiritual ideals of our Foundress Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska and that of Saint Francis of Assisi. Consecrated to God through the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, we live in community, dedicating our lives to God and the Church—always striving to live and share the Gospel message through lives of prayer and service as we cooperate with Christ in the spiritual renewal of the world.
In Service to All God’s People
Today you will find us all across North America serving the impoverished; marginalized; the imprisoned; the sick, elderly, and the infirm; those with profound disabilities and those with developmental and physical disabilities; young adults and youth ranging from pre-school through college; parishioners in our pastoral ministries and the Church itself in a variety of diocesan ministries. Our ministries are as diverse as the people of God themselves—our outreach as varied as the needs of our time. We serve as our Foundress had served before us—always open, responsive, and totally available to those in need, wherever they may be throughout this continent.
By the grace of God, on November 21, 2009, the eight North American provinces of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Felix of Cantalice (Felician Sisters) were reconfigured into one new entity under the title of Our Lady of Hope Province. This event is the culmination of more than ten years of prayer and planning, discussion and discernment about the future of the Felician mission in North America.
Mission Statement:
As Felician Franciscans, called by God, we cooperate with Christ in the spiritual renewal of the world. Our Felician mission both challenges and encourages us to live the Gospel message—and to live as women of hope in a world so greatly in need of hope.
