Felician Associates Celebrate the Peace of Christmas

Posted on January 4, 2024January 4, 2024

The Felician associates had their usual 3rd Saturday of the month meeting at Our Lady of the Angels Convent, Enfield, CT on December 16.

The guest speaker at the meeting was Fr. Hilary Brzostowski, a Franciscan Friar and resident at OLA Convent. Father’s topic was The Peace of Christmas. He shared the beauty in the lives of Mary and Joseph before and at the birth of Christ as found in the Gospels.

Father ended his talk with a meditation that he shared with the associates:

The peace of Christmas

Christmas brings not only joy but suggests peace for the heart. Our Savior brought peace through love; this Christmas, you may know deep in your heart whether or not you have Christmas peace. Has a friend asked your forgiveness, and you would not forgive?

This Christmas, give the gift of forgiveness.
Did something in your past hurt or frighten you terribly, so much that you thought you could not forget?

This Christmas, forget.
Was there a time when your own strength faltered,  and you forgot to believe?

This Christmas, renew your faith.
Have you been postponing a kindness because you did not know exactly what to do, and so with the passing of time, did nothing?

This Christmas, give the gift of kindness.
Do you know of a need, even a word of support or cheer or praise with which you can enrich someone’s life?

This Christmas, fill that need, say those words.
Are you seeking the peace of Christmas?

THEN THIS CHRISTMAS,
FORGIVE,
FORGET,
RENEW YOUR FAITH,
BEGIN TO LIVE AGAIN.

Angela, you were moved by the plight of neglected children, women, the sick, the homeless, the aged, the illiterate, immigrants, victims of war, and all who did not know the love and mercy of God, Pray for these people in our world today.
