The 2020 Biennial Assembly was originally scheduled to take place at Mother of Good Counsel Convent in Chicago, IL, from September 9-14.
The Biennial Assembly fulfills the directive of Statute 7.28 in Response to Love: “The general administration meets every two years in a joint session with all provincial ministers to evaluate implementation of general chapter enactments and to discuss relevant matters of the Congregation.”
During the first three-hour session on September 11, Provincial Minister SM Christopher Moore and the provincial council, along with members of the general council, the provincial councils from Kraków, Przemyśl, Warsaw, Brazil and the Kenyan vice province, heard Father Roger Schroeder, SVD, present “Introduction to Interculturality.”
In conclusion of the assembly, the attendees prayed “The Lord has allowed us, in this difficult time of the pandemic, to meet in unity of heart, to read and know His will for our Congregation . . . Deo Gratias!”
