| To celebrate the Jubilee Year of St. Francis, SM Jeanine Morozowich and SM Bernadette Kapfer set out on pilgrimage to St. Padre Pio Parish in the Lawrenceville Neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA. The church is a designated pilgrim site for the Jubilee Year.
Pilgrims met in the hall of St. Augustine Friary of the Pittsburgh Capuchins. Father Bill Henn, OFM Cap, spoke on the life of St. Francis to those gathered, includ ing pilgrims from a local parish. A tour of the friary and its chapel dedicated to St. Margaret of Cortona was next. Pilgrims were led through the friary gardens to St. Augustine Church, which is part of St. Padre Pio Parish. Mass and confessions followed.
During the Jubilee Year of St. Francis, the parish holds a pilgrimage day on the third Saturday of the month, as well as other events. Lauren Gault, once a novice with the Felician Sisters, joined the sisters for lunch at a local restaurant. What a wonderful way to celebrate Blessed Angela’s birthday, as well as the feast of St. Margaret of Cortona! |
