PRO LIFE STATIONS OF THE CROSS

STATIONS FOR LIFE   A PowerPoint Presentation  (down load here >stations for life)

The Pro Life Stations of the Cross are an offering of prayer for those concerned about life issues in our world. They are written to provide time and openness to God’s blessings to Lenten devotion and beyond.

How Can the Pro Life Stations be used?

The possibilities for this prayer are endless. The Stations of the Cross began in the days following Jesus’ death and resurrection. His followers reflected on the circumstances of the Passion as they began their new way of living. Now we can use the Stations for private prayer, in small groups or even as a guide to parish Lenten prayer.

Traditionally, all fourteen stations are reflected on in progression. You may want to add this prayer to family meal time or family sharing. In this setting you may use only one or a few stations per gathering. The stations may spark some meaningful discussion during these important family times. If you are praying them in a weekly meeting you may want to spread them out over the weeks of Lent. In your personal prayer time, you may reflect slowly one station per day. Modifying the standard format to suit the setting is just what the early Christians did when they began to reflect on the gift of Jesus’ life and Passion. Your reflections may carry you beyond Lent to a new prayer form for many seasons of the year. Pray this traditional prayer form in a whole new way. Let this offering inspire you to find new images and new reflections open to the Holy Spirit’s invitation to prayer.

Angela, you were moved by the plight of neglected children, women, the sick, the homeless, the aged, the illiterate, immigrants, victims of war, and all who did not know the love and mercy of God, Pray for these people in our world today.
